The Shattered 0.9.6 - New meta progression system and more!


Hello everyone!

I've released a new alpha version of The Shattered, v0.9.6! There are plenty of changes in this release and I hope you gonna like them :)

There is a new place in the game, in which you can test your skills and gather shattered souls that can be later used in a new device, called Gear Forge.

New meta progression system

Gear forge allows players to add new shard slots with special bonuses, such as additional statistics, enemy debuffs and even new player skill modifications. Shard forge has been redesigned to reflect changes in this new progression system. There is a lot to discover by yourself!

New enemy types

Many new enemy types have been added, enemy skills system has been redesigned to allow introducing even more enemy types in future.

New visuals and effects

Many visuals and effects have been introduced in this release, including:

  • Damage numbers (finally ;) )
  • New design for several arenas
  • New visuals and effects for player skills
  • New look of rewards screen
  • Better UI scalling for PC version
  • And much more!

Bug fixes

As always, many smaller and bigger bugs have been fixed :)


Full changelog

New features

  • New enemy types - there are 6 new standard enemies, every standard enemy has some unique base skill and 3 more unlockable skills, depending on the player choices.
  • New Challenge arena [name to be defined] - New challenge type with a separate leaderboard, special teleport located in the camp can be used to start a new challenge, in which you need to kill waves of enemies. 
  • Gear - from now on, shard slots are NOT given to player for free. More slots can be unlocked in Gear forge, special device located at the end of the new challenge arena. Each shard slot provided additional benefits. To offset this gain of power, player receives stat and trait bonuses less often after winning the round. There are a lot of new things related to gear, such as slot color, red slot increases power of attack powers of shards, green increases power of defense shards, etc. Colors also decrease costs of shards (red color decreases cost of attack shard points, etc). This gives players more options to explore and should allow more builds to become viable.
  • Shard forge redesigned to reflect changes in gear forge.

Changes and fixes

  • Max stat level is now capped to 6 per stat type, both for player and enemies
  • Enemies dissolves on death
  • New visuals for some of the enemy skills
  • New visuals for skill area of effect indicator
  • Golems scenario received a brand new look
  • Fixed bug with possibility of spending too many challenge points in gear forge
  • Reduced chance for spawning elites by standard teleports 10% -> 5%
  • Buffed statistics for Ancients, Old King and Shattered Mirrors bosses
  • Buffed stats a bit of first 3 bosses
  • Fixed a critical bug with persisting shards and gear slots after starting new game - thanks to Pasi
  • Fixed a bug in sacrifice shard functionality - thanks to @isyal.
  • Fixed a bug with Shattered mirrors going through the walls - thanks to Pasi
  • Removed gear slot limitation for shards (they can now be placed in every slot - but limited to 1 per shard type)
  • Bosses spawn in some distance from player - thanks to @isyal.
  • Added visual effect for player movement
  • New visuals for fireball
  • Added some light effects to spells and other objects in the game
  • Plunderer boss has slightly lower cooldowns and a bit faster projectiles
  • New screen for standard rewards
